Yeow Hwee CHUA (蔡耀辉)
Yeow Hwee Chua is an Assistant Professor in Economics at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He is also the Deputy Director of the Economic Growth Centre at NTU and the Honorary Secretary of the Economics Society of Singapore.
He studies how expectations shape household financial decisions and macroeconomic outcomes. His work lies in behavioral macroeconomics and household finance, and uses administrative data, quasi-experiments, and survey experiments to examine how belief formation and information frictions affect saving, borrowing, and financial resilience across diverse policy and risk environments.
Prior to his current appointment, he was a Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He obtained his PhD in Economics from the National University of Singapore and an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
